Getting There

  • Public Transit

    Start at the Redwood City Caltrain Station located at 201 Jefferson Ave, Redwood City, CA 94063. From the station, take the Caltrain southbound towards San Jose and get off at the next stop, which is the Atherton station. Once you exit the train at Atherton, you will need to walk to the nearest bus stop. Head to the intersection of Alameda de las Pulgas and Atherton Ave, which is about a 15-minute walk. Here, catch the SamTrans bus route 17 towards Menlo Park. Ride the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop at the intersection of Ralston Ave and Pulgas Ave. From this point, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile north on Pulgas Ave until you reach the entrance to Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Redwood City. Start from downtown Redwood City and head east on Broadway St. Continue on Broadway until you reach the intersection with Ralston Ave. Turn right onto Ralston Ave and follow it for about 2.5 miles. Ralston Ave will take you directly to Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve. There are bike racks available at the entrance.

Follow Ralston Ave for approximately 2.5 miles. You will pass through residential areas and some parks along the way. The entrance to Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve will be on your right. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as this walk can take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace.
