Public Transport

To reach the House of England using public transportation, take MTS bus routes 7, 120, or 215 to Balboa Park. From downtown, the Rapid 215 connects from Amtrak and COASTER trains at the Santa Fe Depot. Exit at a stop along Park Boulevard, such as Park Blvd & Village Pl or Park Blvd & Zoo Pl, and walk west towards the Pan American Plaza. The House of England is located within the International Cottages. A one-way fare is $2.50, but consider purchasing a PRONTO card or app for unlimited transfers within two hours.
Driving

If driving, navigate to Balboa Park and aim for parking near the Pan American Plaza (Palisades Lot). From Interstate 5, exit onto Pershing Drive and follow signs to Balboa Park. Parking in Balboa Park is free, but can be limited during peak times. As of November 2024, there are no parking fees in Balboa Park, but this may change in the future. Alternatively, park at Inspiration Point (east of Park Blvd) and take the free Balboa Park Tram to the Pan American Plaza stop. The tram runs every 10-15 minutes.
Taxi/Ride-Share

Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts are readily available in San Diego. Request a drop-off at the central traffic circle by the Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park. From there, the House of England is a short walk within the International Cottages. Expect to pay approximately $10-15 for a ride from downtown San Diego.
