    From San Mateo, head to the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2nd Ave & B St. Take the Caltrain northbound towards San Francisco. Stay on the train for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the San Francisco 4th and King Street Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and head to the Muni bus stop located outside the station. Take the Muni bus number 30 or 45 towards Bayview-Hunters Point. Get off at the Embarcadero & Folsom stop. From there, walk towards the waterfront and follow the signs to Pier 45. The USS Pampanito Museum and Memorial is located at 45 Pier, just a short walk along the pier.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in San Mateo. Start your ride by heading north on El Camino Real towards San Francisco. After about 8 miles, you will reach the Bay Trail. Follow the Bay Trail along the waterfront, which will lead you to the Embarcadero. Continue towards Pier 45. The USS Pampanito Museum and Memorial will be on your right as you approach the pier.

    If you are up for a longer walk, begin at the San Mateo Central Park, located at 50 East 5th Avenue. Head north along 5th Avenue until you reach El Camino Real, then turn left. Continue walking north along El Camino Real for approximately 6 miles until you reach the San Francisco border. Once in San Francisco, continue walking towards the waterfront. You will eventually reach Pier 45, where the USS Pampanito Museum and Memorial is located. Please note this is a long walk and may take about 2-3 hours.
