Getting There

Public Transit
Start at the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2 E 4th Ave, San Mateo, CA 94401. From there, take the Caltrain northbound towards San Francisco. Get off at the Redwood City station, which is about a 12-minute ride. Once you arrive at Redwood City, transfer to the SamTrans bus route 274 at the bus stop near the station. Board the bus heading towards Woodside. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop for Woodside Rd & Allen Rd. From this stop, walk east on Allen Rd for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance to the trail leading up to Allen Peak. The trailhead is marked and will lead you to the summit.

If you have access to a bike, you can start your journey at the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2 E 4th Ave, San Mateo, CA 94401. Ride north on El Camino Real (CA-82) for approximately 5 miles until you reach Woodside Rd. Take a left onto Woodside Rd and ride for another 3 miles until you get to Allen Rd. Turn right on Allen Rd and you will see the entrance to the trailhead for Allen Peak after about 0.5 miles. Be cautious as some sections may have steep inclines.
