Walking
From the center of Montecito, head southwest on Coast Village Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with San Ysidro Road. Turn left onto San Ysidro Road and continue walking until you reach the end of the road. You will see a sign directing you to the beach access. Follow the trail that leads down to the beach. Point Castillo is located along the shoreline, approximately 0.5 miles down the beach from this access point. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
Public Transit
Catch the MTD bus (Line 20) from any stop along Coast Village Road heading towards Santa Barbara. Get off at the 'Butterfly Beach' stop. From there, walk south along the beach, and you will reach Point Castillo in about 15 minutes. Please note that the bus fare is approximately $1.75, and make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Montecito. Once you have your bike, head towards Coast Village Road and ride southwest. Continue on Coast Village Road until you reach San Ysidro Road. Turn left and ride until you reach the beach access point. Lock your bike at the beach and continue on foot towards Point Castillo, which is about a 0.5-mile walk along the shoreline.
