Getting There

• Hiking

  To reach Panoramic Point Overlook on foot, start your journey from the Lodgepole Visitor Center. Head south on the main road towards the Giant Forest area. Follow signs directing you to the Crescent Meadow Trailhead. Once you reach the trailhead, begin your hike on the Crescent Meadow Trail, which is well-marked. Continue along this trail for about 1.5 miles until you reach the junction with the Panoramic Point Trail. At the junction, follow the signs to the left that lead you up to Panoramic Point. The trail is steep but short, approximately 0.6 miles. Keep an eye out for signs along the way to ensure you're on the correct path. Once you arrive, enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

• Shuttle

  If you're looking for a more relaxed option, check the park's shuttle service schedule. From the Lodgepole Visitor Center, take the shuttle heading towards the Giant Forest. Get off at the stop for the Crescent Meadow Trailhead. From there, follow the same route as outlined for hiking: take the Crescent Meadow Trail for 1.5 miles, then turn left at the junction onto the Panoramic Point Trail. This is a shorter, steeper trek of about 0.6 miles to reach the overlook. Make sure to check shuttle times to plan your return trip accordingly.

• Guided Tour

  Consider joining a guided tour that includes a visit to Panoramic Point Overlook. These tours often start at the Lodgepole Visitor Center and provide transportation to the trailhead. Your guide will lead you along the Crescent Meadow Trail, sharing insights about the local ecology and history. You'll hike approximately 1.5 miles to the junction before taking the final 0.6 miles to the overlook.
