Getting There

• Public Transit (OC Transpo)

  If you are starting from downtown Ottawa, head to the nearest OC Transpo bus stop. You can catch bus number 1 or 7 from any central location like the Ottawa City Hall or the Rideau Centre. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Rideau Centre' stop. From there, disembark and walk towards Sussex Drive. Follow Sussex Drive north for about 10 minutes until you see the National Gallery of Canada on your left at 380 Sussex Dr. The walk will take you past the beautiful views of the ByWard Market area.

• Walking

  If you are close to the ByWard Market area, simply start walking towards Sussex Drive. Head southeast on George Street, then turn left onto Sussex Drive. Continue walking for approximately 5-10 minutes, and you will arrive at the National Gallery of Canada, located at 380 Sussex Dr. Look for the large glass and granite building, which is hard to miss!

• Cycling

  For those who prefer to cycle, you can use one of Ottawa’s bike rental services or your own bicycle. From the ByWard Market, head along the bike paths that connect to Sussex Drive. Follow the bike lane on Sussex Drive directly to the National Gallery of Canada. The ride should take about 5 minutes. There are bike racks available for parking your bicycle upon arrival.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can hail a taxi or use a rideshare service like Uber. Simply provide the driver with the address: 380 Sussex Dr, Ottawa, ON K1N 9N4. The ride from most central locations in Ottawa should take around 5-15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
