Discover more about Dickson Lake

Dickson Lake, located in the northern part of Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia, is a captivating glacial lake renowned for its serene beauty and stunning mountain backdrop. Fed by the Dickson Glacier, the lake's waters eventually drain into the Paine River. The lake's transformation into an international body of water occurred in 1998 due to the retreat of the Dickson Glacier, marking a significant geographical change. Dickson Lake offers a more secluded experience compared to the park's more famous attractions. It is visited by only a small percentage of Torres del Paine visitors, primarily those undertaking the full 'O' Circuit trek. The area surrounding the lake boasts diverse flora and fauna, providing ample opportunities for wildlife encounters. Hiking trails weave through the landscape, offering panoramic views and immersive experiences in this pristine environment. Adventurers can also enjoy kayaking and fishing in the lake's clear waters. The Dickson area provides a tranquil escape into Patagonia's wilderness. The Dickson Shelter & Campground offers basic amenities for trekkers, including dormitory-style lodging and a restaurant.
