If you are driving, begin your journey from Iquique. Head south on the A-16 route for approximately 47 kilometers. You will pass through Pozo Almonte, and continue on Ruta 16 until you reach the saltpeter works. Look for the signs directing you to Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works on your left. There is a parking area available at the entrance.

From Iquique, take a bus to Pozo Almonte. Buses leave regularly from Iquique's main bus terminal (Terminal de Buses). The journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour, and the ticket costs approximately $3,000 CLP (Chilean Pesos). Once you arrive in Pozo Almonte, you can take a taxi or a local shared taxi (colectivo) to Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works, which is located roughly 10 kilometers away. The taxi fare should be around $5,000 to $7,000 CLP.
