Getting There

    To reach Bukaru from Santa Marta, take a bus from the main bus terminal towards Parque Tayrona. Buses typically display signs for 'Parque Tayrona' or 'Taganga'. The bus fare is approximately 10,000 COP. The bus will take you to the park entrance where you'll need to pay the entrance fee, which is around 54,000 COP for foreigners. After entering the park, you can walk or take local transport like a 4x4 or horseback ride to reach Bukaru, as private vehicles are restricted beyond the entrance.

    From the El Zaino entrance of Tayrona National Park, follow the main trail towards Arrecifes. The hike to the Arrecifes area, where Bukaru is located, takes approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace and trail conditions. The trail is well-marked but can be muddy in places, so wear appropriate footwear. Note that there is a bus that will transport you closer to the hiking trails for a small fee of about $2. From Arrecifes, Bukaru campsite is a short walk away.
