Getting There

  • Driving

    The AHRA Visitor Center is located in downtown Salida at 307 W Sackett Ave. From Highway 50, turn north onto G Street and proceed to Sackett Avenue. The visitor center is at the corner of G Street and Sackett Avenue. Parking is available on the street. Note that parking can be limited during peak tourist season.

  • Walking

    The AHRA Visitor Center is easily accessible on foot from most locations in downtown Salida. From Riverside Park, walk west along Sackett Avenue to the intersection of G Street. The visitor center is located on the north-east corner of the intersection. This is a short, easy walk.

  • Public Transport

    Mountain Valley Transit (formerly Chaffee Shuttle) provides public transportation in Salida and Buena Vista. Check the Mountain Valley Transit website or call for routes and schedules. The shuttle can drop you off near the Visitor Center in downtown Salida. Donations are appreciated for the free service.
