Gondola
The most common and scenic way to reach San Sophia Overlook is via the free Telluride Gondola. You can board the gondola at either the Telluride Station (Town of Telluride) or the Mountain Village Station. The ride to the San Sophia Station takes about 6 minutes from either location. From the San Sophia Gondola Station, follow the wide, short path (approximately 900 feet) to the Overlook. The path is a bit uphill. The gondola is free.

While the gondola is the primary access method, driving to Mountain Village and parking near the gondola station is an option. Free parking garages are available in both Telluride and Mountain Village within walking distance of the gondola. Metered and free street parking are also available in Telluride. Parking rates vary, but expect to pay around $2-5 per hour for metered parking. From the parking areas, walk to either the Telluride or Mountain Village Gondola Station to begin your ascent.
