If you are starting from downtown Trinidad, head east on Main Street towards the intersection with East 1st Street. When you reach the intersection, turn left onto East 1st Street. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Purgatoire Drive. Turn right onto Purgatoire Drive. The Purgatoire Riverwalk will be on your left at 145 Purgatoire Dr. Look for the signs that indicate the Riverwalk entrance.

Check the local bus schedule for routes that head towards the East Trinidad area. Get off at the closest stop to East 1st Street. From there, walk east on East 1st Street until you reach Purgatoire Drive. Turn right onto Purgatoire Drive, and you will find the entrance to the Purgatoire Riverwalk at 145 Purgatoire Dr on your left. Local trips on the public transit are $2 each way.
