Walking

Start at the Trinidad City Park located at 300 W Main St, Trinidad, CO 81082. From the park, head east on W Main St towards N Colorado Ave. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with N Colorado Ave. At this intersection, turn left onto N Colorado Ave. Walk north until you reach the intersection with E 1st St. Turn right onto E 1st St and continue straight until you reach the intersection with N Animas St. Turn left onto N Animas St. Follow N Animas St as it turns into CO-350 E. This road will take you directly to Trinidad Lake. The lake is located about 4 miles east of Trinidad, and you can follow the signs for Trinidad Lake State Park.
Biking

Begin at the Trinidad City Park at 300 W Main St. Rent a bike from a local shop if you don’t have one. Head east on W Main St to N Colorado Ave and take a left. Continue north on N Colorado Ave until it intersects with E 1st St. Turn right onto E 1st St, then turn left onto N Animas St. Stay on N Animas St as it becomes CO-350 E. This route is approximately 4 miles and is bike-friendly. You will see signs directing you to Trinidad Lake State Park as you get closer.
Public Transit

From Trinidad, locate the nearest bus stop for the local transit service. Take the bus that travels east towards CO-350. Confirm with the driver that they stop near Trinidad Lake. The bus trip may take about 30 minutes depending on stops. Once you arrive at the designated stop for Trinidad Lake, you can follow the signs to the lake area.
