From Greenwich, head to the Greenwich Metro-North Station located at 2 Railroad Ave, Greenwich, CT 06830. You can walk there from anywhere in Greenwich downtown. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to New York City, specifically to Grand Central Terminal. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next available train. The ride will take approximately 50 minutes.

Upon arriving at Grand Central Terminal in New York City, follow the signs to the subway. Take the 4, 5, 6, or S train from Grand Central to 42nd Street-Bryant Park. From there, transfer to the B or D train and head uptown to 59th Street–Columbus Circle. Once you exit the subway, walk northeast to 5th Avenue. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located at 1000 5th Ave, a short 10-minute walk from Columbus Circle.

After arriving at Grand Central Terminal, you can also take the M1, M2, M3, or M4 bus from the bus stop on 42nd Street. These buses will take you northbound along 5th Avenue. Get off at the stop closest to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is near 82nd Street. From there, it’s a short walk to 1000 5th Ave.

If you prefer to explore, after arriving at Grand Central Terminal, you can walk to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Head northwest on 42nd Street toward 5th Avenue.
