Getting There

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From New Haven Union Station, take the CT Transit bus number 222 towards West Haven. The bus ride will take approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop for Captain Thomas Blvd. After getting off, walk about 10 minutes down Captain Thomas Blvd towards the water. Savin Rock Park will be on your left, right by the beach.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program. Start from downtown New Haven and head west on State Street. Follow State Street until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Take a right on Route 1, then continue straight until you hit Captain Thomas Blvd. Turn left on Captain Thomas Blvd and follow the road down to Savin Rock Park, which will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are in the downtown area of New Haven, you can walk to Savin Rock Park as well. Start at the New Haven Green and head west on Chapel Street. Continue straight, and it will turn into State Street. When you reach the intersection with Route 1, turn right. Walk along Route 1 for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Captain Thomas Blvd. Continue on Captain Thomas Blvd until you see Savin Rock Park on your left.
