Start your journey in Avarua at the main square, where the Cook Islands Christian Church is located. From the church, head east along Ara Tapu (the main road) towards Avatiu. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the Avatiu harbor area. You will see a sign for Te Rua Manga along the way. Follow the signs towards the trailhead located near the Avatiu Valley.
