Walking

If you are starting from the Avatiu harbor area, head west along the main road (Ara Tapu). Continue walking along this road for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs that point towards the Arorangi District. When you reach the intersection at the Arorangi School, turn left and follow the road for approximately 500 meters. You will see Shipwreck Hut Bar & Restaurant & Accommodation on your right side. There are no costs involved in walking.

Catch a bus from Avarua towards Arorangi. Buses are available at regular intervals throughout the day. Inform the driver that you are going to Shipwreck Hut, and they will drop you off at a nearby stop. After getting off, walk approximately 200 meters back towards the main road, and you will find Shipwreck Hut Bar & Restaurant & Accommodation on your left. A single ride will cost $5 NZD.
