Getting There

• Walking

  If you are already in Cahuita National Park, head to the main trail that leads to Punta Cahuita. Look for signs indicating the direction towards Punta Cahuita, which is well-marked. The walk from the park entrance to Punta Cahuita is approximately 30-40 minutes along a scenic coastal path. Enjoy the lush surroundings and keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Cahuita. Once you have your bike, head towards the Cahuita Main Road (Calle Principal) and follow the road signs directing you towards Punta Cahuita. It is about a 15-20 minute ride from the town center. Make sure to follow traffic rules and stay safe on the roads.

  If you are driving from other parts of Cahuita, navigate to the Cahuita Main Road (Calle Principal). From the town center, take the road leading southeast towards Punta Cahuita. The drive should take about 10 minutes. Look for parking options near the entrance of the Punta Cahuita area, as parking may be limited.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, catch a local bus from Puerto Viejo or nearby towns heading towards Cahuita. Once you arrive at the Cahuita bus terminal, you can either walk to Punta Cahuita, which is about a 30-minute walk, or take a local taxi for a quick ride. Taxis are generally available near the bus terminal.
