Parque España, established in 1895, is a charming urban park located between 9th and 11th Streets and 3rd and 7th Avenues in San José, Costa Rica. Once a muddy lagoon and later a parking lot for ox carts, it has transformed into a serene space filled with trees, bamboo mangroves, and vibrant gardens, offering a refreshing escape from the city. The park is surrounded by significant buildings, including the Yellow House (Casa Amarilla), built in 1926 in Spanish Baroque style, which formerly served as the Presidential Residence and Legislative Assembly and is now home to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
