Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from any location in the Dubrovnik Riviera, take the D8 coastal road towards Dubrovnik. Once you reach Dubrovnik, follow signs for the Old Town. Parking is limited, but you can find the nearest parking area at the 'Parking Garage' located just outside the Pile Gate. The address is Ulica Iva Vojnovića, 20000, Dubrovnik. From the parking garage, it's a 15-minute walk to Tvrđava Svetog Ivana. Exit the garage, walk towards Pile Gate, then enter the Old Town. Once inside, follow the street signs towards the city walls and Tvrđava Svetog Ivana.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Tvrđava Svetog Ivana using public transportation, you can take a bus from various locations in the Dubrovnik Riviera to the main bus station in Dubrovnik. The bus station is located at Obala Stjepana Radića, 20000, Dubrovnik. From the bus station, you can either take a local taxi to the Old Town or walk – it's about a 25-minute walk. If walking, follow the path to the Old Town, and after entering through Pile Gate, follow the signs to Tvrđava Svetog Ivana, which is located near the eastern edge of the Old Town walls.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct approach, you can hire a taxi from any point in the Dubrovnik Riviera directly to Tvrđava Svetog Ivana. Make sure to confirm the fare beforehand. The taxi will drop you off near the entrance to the Old Town, and from there, it's a short walk to the fortress.
