This covered wooden bridge stretches across the Ohře River and is considered one of the oldest wooden bridges in Central Europe. The bridge's history dates back to 1364 when Charles IV granted the town of Ostrov the right to build a bridge and collect tolls. The bridge was constructed on the site of Radovan's ford, an ancient river crossing used by traders. Throughout the centuries, the bridge has been damaged multiple times by floods, fires, and wars. It was destroyed by Swedish and French armies in the 17th and 18th centuries. The bridge was rebuilt, retaining its original form, with the wooden pillars replaced by brick ones in 1768.
