Walking
From Half Moon Bay State Beach, head west towards the coast. The trail is easily accessible from the beach parking lots. Follow the paved path north or south to explore different sections of the trail. Note that the visitor center at Francis Beach is open weekends only.
Public Transport
From downtown Half Moon Bay, take the SamTrans Route 17 bus towards Half Moon Bay State Beach. Get off at the Kelly Avenue and Highway 1 stop, then walk west on Kelly Avenue to reach the Francis Beach entrance and the coastal trail. A single ride on SamTrans costs $2.50.
Driving
If driving from Highway 1, exit at Kelly Avenue and head west towards Half Moon Bay State Beach. Parking is available at Francis Beach, Venice Beach, and Dunes Beach. Parking fees vary, typically around $10 per day. Limited free parking may be available at Pillar Point Harbor.
