No costs are associated with walking to the refuge.

DART (Delaware Authority for Regional Transit) offers bus services to the vicinity of the Russell Peterson Wildlife Refuge. From the Wilmington Transit Center, take a DART bus that stops near the Riverfront. From there, it's a short walk east along the Riverwalk to the refuge. A one-way fare on DART is $2.00.

From I-95, take Exit 6 for Martin Luther King Boulevard. Follow signs for the Riverfront and turn onto Justison Street, then right onto Shipyard Drive, which merges into Delmarva Lane. Continue straight to the DuPont Environmental Education Center (DEEC), where parking is available. Parking is free. Note that parking may be limited during peak hours.
