Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Samaná town, head northeast on Carretera Samaná – Las Terrenas (also known as Route 5). Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach Las Terrenas. Once in Las Terrenas, follow the signs for Playa Las Ballenas. You'll turn left onto Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó street. Playa Las Ballenas will be on your right after approximately 1 kilometer. Look for parking options along the street or near the beach.

• Public Transportation (Guagua)

  To reach Playa Las Ballenas by public transport, find a local 'guagua' (shared taxi or minibus) heading to Las Terrenas from Samaná town. The fare is usually around 100-150 Dominican Pesos. Once you arrive in Las Terrenas, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to Playa Las Ballenas. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk from the main town, or you can hire a motoconcho (motorcycle taxi) for a small fee.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a direct option, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Samaná to Playa Las Ballenas. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it typically costs around 800-1200 Dominican Pesos depending on your starting location. The taxi will take you directly to the beach, ensuring you have a comfortable and convenient trip.
