Drive south on the E45 highway for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Archidona. From there, turn onto the road to Llanganates National Park. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you see signs for Rio Jatunyacu; follow these signs which will lead you to the river. Parking may be limited, so be cautious when selecting a spot.

From Tena, take a bus to Archidona; the bus ride typically costs around $1.50 and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Archidona, you can catch a local truck or taxi (called 'pickup') that goes towards Llanganates National Park. This leg of the journey might cost you around $5-$10 depending on the number of passengers. Inform the driver that your destination is Rio Jatunyacu. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes.
