Car
If you are traveling by car, begin your journey in the town of Otavalo, a popular tourist destination in the Imbabura Region. From Otavalo, take the E35 highway heading south. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will reach the town of Cayambe. From Cayambe, continue on the E35 for another 25 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the E28. Here, take the E28 heading east toward the town of La Esperanza. After around 15 kilometers, you will see signs for Intag Valley. Follow the signs that lead you onto the Via Cuicocha road. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers until you see a sign for Pacheco Farmhouse (via Cuicocha Intag km 60). The farmhouse will be on your right.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start your journey at the Otavalo bus terminal. Take a bus to Cayambe, which costs approximately $1.50 and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cayambe, look for a bus that is headed to Intag Valley; the fare is roughly $2.00 and the journey will take around 1 hour. Inform the driver you want to get off at the Via Cuicocha stop. After getting off, you will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers along the Via Cuicocha road. You can ask locals for directions to Pacheco Farmhouse, which is located at km 60. Ensure to check the bus schedules, as they may vary depending on the day of the week.
