After approximately 40 kilometers, turn onto a dirt road leading towards Laguna Amarilla. This road can be rough, so be prepared for a bit of off-road driving. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the Laguna.

  • Public Transportation

    From Macas, you can take a bus heading towards Sucúa. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the entrance of Parque Nacional Sangay. The bus fare is around $1.50 and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the entrance, you can either walk the remaining 10 kilometers to Laguna Amarilla or hire a local taxi for approximately $10 to take you directly to the lake.
