Bus
From Quito, take an overnight bus from Quitumbe Terminal to Lago Agrio. Several bus companies offer this route, with departures around 9:00 PM and a journey time of approximately 8-10 hours. The fare is typically between $12 and $20. From Lago Agrio, take a taxi or van to the Cuyabeno Bridge, which costs $12-$15. Alternatively, Transportes Putumayo offers a direct bus from Quito to Puente Cuyabeno for around $16. From the Cuyabeno Bridge, Tucan Lodge provides transportation via motorized canoe to the lodge. This canoe ride typically takes 2-3 hours.
Private Shuttle
Tucan Lodge offers a private overnight shuttle service from Quito to the Cuyabeno Bridge. The shuttle departs from Quito around 11:00 PM and arrives at the Cuyabeno Bridge the next morning. The cost is $30 one-way or $60 round-trip per person. This option provides a more direct and comfortable journey to the reserve.
