Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in downtown Cairo, make your way to the nearest Metro station, which is Sadat Station. Take the Metro Line 1 (the red line) towards Helwan. After 4 stops, get off at the El-Demerdash Station. Once you exit the station, head east on El-Mosky Street until you reach the intersection with Ghamra Street. Turn left onto Ghamra Street and continue for about 500 meters. You will find Etz Hayim Synagogue at 3 Kantaret Ghamra, on your right.

    From Tahrir Square, find the nearest bus stop and board a bus heading towards Abbaseya. Ensure the bus number is 104 or 108. The journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the As Sakakeni stop. Once you disembark, walk west on Ghamra Street for about 300 meters. The synagogue will be on your left at 3 Kantaret Ghamra.
