Car
If you are traveling by car within Soomaa National Park, head towards Viljandi. Use the main road leading out of the park towards Viljandi. Once you reach Viljandi, continue on the main road until you reach J. Laidoneri street. Follow J. Laidoneri for approximately 1 km, and you will find the Viljandi vana veetorn (water tower) on your right. There is parking available near the site, but be sure to check for any signs indicating parking regulations.

Public Transportation
To reach Viljandi vana veetorn using public transportation, start by taking a bus from one of the nearby towns in Soomaa National Park to Viljandi. Check local bus schedules for departure times. Once you arrive at the Viljandi bus station, exit the station and head towards J. Laidoneri street. It's approximately a 15-minute walk, about 1 km. Follow J. Laidoneri street towards the direction of the water tower, which will be on your right.

If you find yourself in Viljandi town center and would like to walk to Viljandi vana veetorn, start at the Town Hall Square. From there, head southeast on Tallinna street, then turn left onto J. Laidoneri street. Continue walking for about 1 km. The Viljandi vana veetorn will be on your right. This walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes and offers nice views of the town.
