Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the main square in Axum, known as Maekel Square, head east towards the main road. Continue walking along this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the street leading to the Holly Land of Aksum. You will see a sign directing you to the site. Turn right at this intersection and walk straight for about 500 meters. The Holly Land of Aksum will be on your left, marked as 4PFJ+QCF on local maps.

    From the St. Mary of Zion Church, exit the church grounds and turn left. Walk along the main road towards the east for approximately 800 meters. You will pass a few local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the sign directing you towards Holly Land of Aksum. Once you see the sign, turn left and walk about 300 meters until you reach the entrance of the site.

    If you are near the Aksum Museum, start by walking towards the main road heading south. Continue straight for about 1.2 kilometers. As you approach the outskirts of the city, you will see a large sign for Holly Land of Aksum on your right. Turn right at the sign and follow the road for another 400 meters to reach your destination.
