Getting There

  • Car

    If driving from Tórshavn, head northwest on Route 10 towards Norðradal. Continue for approximately 30 km. Then follow route 594 which will take you directly to the village. In Tjørnuvík, follow signs to the beach. Note that parking is available near the beach but may be limited, especially during peak season. Parking is located at the entrance to the village. During July and August, a free park and ride shuttle service operates from Haldórsvík between 10:00 and 17:00.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Tjørnuvík Beach via public transport from Tórshavn, take bus 400 to Oyrarbakki. From Oyrarbakki, transfer to bus 201, which goes directly to Tjørnuvík. The bus journey from Oyrarbakki to Tjørnuvík takes approximately 38 minutes. From the Tjørnuvík bus stop, it is a short walk to the beach. A multi-day travel card can be purchased for DKK 500 for four days of travel.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Tjørnuvík village, the beach is easily accessible on foot. From the village center, walk towards the coast following the signs to the beach. The walk should take about 10-15 minutes, offering scenic views along the way.
