To reach Tjørnuvík by car from Tórshavn, follow Route 10 north. The drive is approximately 50 km and takes about 55 minutes. As you approach Tjørnuvík, you'll drive along a single-lane mountain road with pull-over spots to let vehicles pass. Parking is available at the entrance of the village. During the high season, traffic lights are set up to manage traffic on the narrow road. Parking in Tjørnuvík is reserved for residents, but visitors can use the free 'park and ride' shuttle service from Haldórsvík. This shuttle operates daily between 10:00 and 17:00 in July and August. Campervans are not permitted in Tjørnuvík but can park in Haldórsvík. There are parking sensors and information signs in Haldórsvík to indicate vacant parking spaces in Tjørnuvík. There are no tolls.

To reach Tjørnuvík by public transport from Tórshavn, take bus 400 to Oyrarbakki. From Oyrarbakki, transfer to bus 202 to Tjørnuvík. Bus 202 operates five times a day from Monday to Friday. The journey from Oyrarbakki to Tjørnuvík takes approximately 38 minutes. A single bus fare within the region typically costs around 30 DKK. A multi-day travel card for unlimited bus and ferry travel (excluding Mykines) is available for 500 DKK for four days. Please note that bus service is limited on weekends.
