During the war, the islands were peacefully occupied by the British, bringing cultural changes and significant losses to the Faroese community. About 170 fishermen lost their lives at sea due to the war. The museum features a collection of original items, photographs, and documents that illustrate the tense atmosphere in Faroese villages, homes, and fishing vessels during the war. Exhibits are thoughtfully curated to allow visitors to connect with the past. Knowledgeable staff members are available to provide insights and answer questions. The museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from May to September, 2 PM to 5 PM. Visits can also be arranged by appointment by calling 221940. The admission fee for adults is 50 DKK, and admission is free for children up to 14 years old. For groups of 10 or more, the admission fee is 30 DKK per person.
