Boat Tour
The most direct way to view Skarðsáfossur is by joining a boat tour from the nearby village of Sørvágur. Several operators offer tours along the Sørvágsfjørður fjord, specifically highlighting the waterfall and the surrounding sea stacks. Typical cost: Boat tours range from 500 DKK to 900 DKK per person, depending on the duration and inclusions.
Driving and Walking (Limited View)
While a full view from land isn't possible due to private property, you can drive towards the Gásadalur tunnel from Bøur. Look for a small, unpaved area on the right side of the road where locals park for sheep herding. From here, you can try to walk towards the ocean, though there is no clear path and the view of the waterfall will be partial. Be respectful of private property. Cost: Parking is free. However, this option provides a limited view.
Public Transport and Walking (Partial View)
Take bus route 300 or 350 to Bøur. From Bøur, follow the road towards the Gásadalur tunnel and look for the unpaved parking area. Walk towards the coast for a glimpse of the waterfall, keeping in mind the limited view and private property. Cost: A single bus fare from Vágar Airport to Bøur is approximately 30 DKK. A travel card for multiple days can also be purchased.
