Discover more about Kotka Sculpture Promenade

The Kotka Sculpture Promenade is Finland's largest outdoor gallery, transforming the city center into a vibrant art space. The promenade extends over two kilometers, running through Haukkavuori Park and Kotka City Port. The lime tree boulevard along Keskuskatu, along with Toivo Pekkanen Park and Sibelius Park, create a magnificent sculpture park featuring contemporary art. The promenade began in 2000 with the placement of the first sculptures along Lehmusbulevardi. Since then, the exhibition has expanded into nearby parks and streets, including Toivo Pekkanen Park, Haukkavuori Park, Kauppakatu, and Sibelius Park. The aim is to present a versatile collection of mainly Finnish sculptures that enrich the cityscape. In 2004, the Association of Finnish Sculptors awarded the Sculpture Promenade the Pro Sculptura medal. Visitors can explore a diverse range of sculptures in various sizes, materials, and styles, from classical busts to modern abstractions. New sculptures are added almost every year, ensuring a constantly evolving display. The surrounding greenery enhances the experience, creating a serene atmosphere for appreciating art, photography, or leisurely strolls. The promenade also serves as a venue for local events, fostering a vibrant community life.
