    Driving

    To reach Pisa Nature Preserve by car, head towards Kuopio. From Kuopio, take Route 5 (E63) southbound. Take the exit toward Salmenpellontie and continue for about 10 kilometers. The preserve is on the right. Parking is available at Lastukoskentie 107 and Salmenpellontie 245. Parking is free. Note that the parking lot of Lastukoski is 3 km from Pisa and Salmenpelto 2 km from Pisa.

    Public Transport

    While there is no direct public transportation to Pisa Nature Preserve, you can take a bus from Kuopio to Nilsiä. From Nilsiä, you would need to take a taxi or walk approximately 13 km to reach the preserve. Bus fare from Kuopio to Nilsiä is approximately €12-17. A taxi from Nilsiä to the preserve may cost around €30-40. Check local bus schedules for the most up-to-date information.

    Pisa Nature Preserve, a 306-hectare natural area on the border of Kuopio and Juankoski, has been a celebrated destination for over a century. These routes can be demanding, but stairs and resting places have been added to ease the climb. The highlight of the preserve is the Pisa observation tower. Near the tower, you can also find landmarks of the Treaty of Teusina, dating back more than 400 years.
