    If driving from Oulu, head north on the E75 highway. Continue for about 50 kilometers until the exit for Pahkalantie. Turn left onto Pahkalantie and drive for about 5 kilometers. The Kierikki Stone Age Centre will be on your right at Pahkalantie 447A. Parking is available on-site free of charge.

The Kierikki Stone Age Centre offers a unique glimpse into the lives of Stone Age people in Northern Finland. Located approximately 55 kilometers from Oulu, the center resides in the middle of an extensive Stone Age settlement area dating back to 5000-3000 BC. The center consists of the Centre for Ancient Times and a Stone Age Village. The Centre for Ancient Times features archaeological exhibitions that showcase artifacts and multimedia presentations, detailing the prehistory of the region. See a 35,000-year-old mammoth tooth, amber jewelry, and flint arrowheads. The main building itself is one of the largest modern log buildings in the Nordic countries and has won awards for its architecture. Outside, the Stone Age Village offers a hands-on experience of what life was like thousands of years ago. Explore reconstructed houses based on archaeological findings and try your hand at Stone Age skills such as archery and stone carving. A boardwalk connects the Centre for Ancient Times to the Stone Age Village, offering views of the Iijoki River. The center also hosts events and workshops throughout the year, including the Ancient Marketplace and Night of the Ancient Fires.
