Continue straight on Kiiminkijärventie for about 5 km until you reach the intersection with Koitelinkoskentie. Turn left onto Koitelinkoskentie and follow it for about 3 km. Koitelinkoski will be on your right. Parking is available near Koitelinkoski. Parking is free.

The Kiiminkijoki River splits into smaller streams as it flows through the area, creating a series of impressive rapids and small islands. These islands, including Sahasaari, Myllysaari, and Tulisaari, are connected by suspension bridges, making it a fun adventure, especially for children.Historically, Koiteli has been a significant center along the Kiiminkijoki river, with traces of industry, travel, and trade evident in the area. The name 'Koiteli' is believed to be of Sámi origin, meaning 'the one in the middle'. The rapids were harnessed for sawmills in the 19th century, and there were even plans for a power plant.
