Getting There

  • Car

    From any point in Honeymoon Island State Park, exit the park and turn onto Honeymoon Island Causeway. Head south toward Dunedin and merge onto Curlew Road (SR 586). Continue on Curlew Road until you reach US-19. Turn left onto US-19 and continue south for approximately 7 miles. Take the exit for Terra Ceia and merge onto Bayshore Drive. The Madira Bickel Mound State Archaeological Site will be on your left at 955 Bayshore Dr, Terra Ceia, FL 34250. There may be parking fees at the site, so be prepared for a small cost.

    If you are traveling by public transportation, begin by taking the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) bus service from Honeymoon Island State Park to the nearest bus stop on Curlew Road. From there, transfer to bus route 61 southbound toward the St. Petersburg area. After several stops, transfer to bus route 100 at the nearest junction that connects to US-19.
