From Clearwater, head to the nearest bus stop. Take the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) bus route 66 towards Tarpon Springs. Stay on the bus for approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the Anna Maria Island stop. From there, you may need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the Passage Key National Wildlife Refuge. Follow the signs towards the beach, and you will find the refuge entrance along the coastline.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Clearwater Beach. Follow the scenic bike paths along Gulf Boulevard, heading south. Keep biking until you reach the Anna Maria Island Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs for Passage Key National Wildlife Refuge, which is approximately a 25-minute ride from the bridge.
