From Santa Fe River, head south on US-1 S. Continue for about 40 miles until you reach St. Augustine. Take the exit for FL-16 E toward St. Augustine Beach. Merge onto FL-16 E and continue until you reach US-1 S. Turn left onto US-1 S and continue for about 2 miles. Turn right onto S Castillo Dr. The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument will be on your left at 11 S Castillo Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be parking fees.

Public Transportation
From Santa Fe River, take the local bus service to the nearest train station. Board the Amtrak train heading to Jacksonville, Florida. Once you arrive in Jacksonville, transfer to the Greyhound bus service heading to St. Augustine. The Greyhound bus will drop you off near the historic district. From there, you can walk to Castillo de San Marcos, which is approximately a 15-minute walk south along US-1 S. Make sure to check the bus and train schedules in advance as they may vary.
