Rifugio Maison Vieille: A Mountain Retreat in Courmayeur

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head to Courmayeur town center and follow the signs for 'Skyway Monte Bianco'. You will reach a parking area near the cable car station, where you can park your car (note that parking may incur a fee). From the parking area, take the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car to the top. The gondola ride offers stunning views and takes you to the 'Pavillon' station. From there, continue to the 'Col Checrouit' station by following the signs. Rifugio Maison Vieille is located just a short walk from this station.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Courmayeur to the 'Skyway Monte Bianco' station. The bus schedule may vary, so check the local timetable. Upon arrival at the cable car station, purchase a ticket for the Skyway Monte Bianco. After reaching the 'Pavillon' station, follow the signs to the 'Col Checrouit' station. From here, it's a brief walk to Rifugio Maison Vieille.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to hike, you can take the trail from Courmayeur towards Col Checrouit. The hike is approximately 1.5 hours and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks. Upon reaching Col Checrouit, follow the signs to Rifugio Maison Vieille, which is just a short distance away.
