Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the center of Courmayeur. Head east on Via Roma towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Strada Regionale 26. Continue on this road for about 4 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Val Ferret. Here you will find parking available. Please note that there may be a parking fee, typically around €5 for a day. After parking, take the trail that leads to Rifugio Walter Bonatti, which is approximately a 2-hour hike. Follow the signs for 'Rifugio Walter Bonatti' as you ascend.

• Public Transportation and Hiking

  To reach Rifugio Walter Bonatti using public transportation, take the local bus from Courmayeur to the Val Ferret. Catch the bus from the main bus stop in Courmayeur, which is located near the cable car station. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes and costs around €2. Get off at the last stop in Val Ferret, where you will find parking facilities. From there, start your hike on the marked trails towards Rifugio Walter Bonatti, which takes about 2 hours. Ensure you have comfortable hiking shoes and plenty of water for the trek.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Courmayeur to Val Ferret. You can find taxis near the main square or call a local taxi service. The taxi ride will take about 15 minutes and typically costs between €15 to €25, depending on the time of day and traffic. Once at Val Ferret, you will need to hike approximately 2 hours to reach Rifugio Walter Bonatti. Follow the trail signs for guidance.
