Once you arrive, park in one of the public parking areas near the palace. From there, it is a short walk to the Grand Canal, located in the gardens of the palace. Be aware that parking can incur a fee, typically around €4-€10 depending on the duration.

To reach the Grand Canal of Versailles via public transportation, take the RER C train from central Paris. Board the train at stations such as Saint-Michel or Musée d'Orsay and head towards Versailles-Rive-Gauche. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Versailles-Rive-Gauche station, exit the station and walk about 15 minutes to the palace. Follow the signs to the Château de Versailles, and once inside the gardens, you will find the Grand Canal.

You can also take the bus to get to the Grand Canal. From central Paris, board the Line 171 bus from the Porte de Saint-Cloud station towards Versailles. The bus ride takes about 50 minutes.
