Getting There

  • Walking

    From the central area of La Rochelle, start at the Place de la République. Head south on Rue de la République towards Rue du Minage. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where it merges into Rue de la Chaîne. Turn left onto Rue de la Chaîne and follow it as it curves right into the old port area. Keep walking along the waterfront until you reach the iconic towers. The Lantern Tower (Tour de la Lanterne) is located at the end of Rue sur les Murs. It will be prominently visible as you approach, just beyond the other towers.

    If you prefer public transport, you can take Bus Line 1 from the central bus station (Gare Routière de La Rochelle). Board the bus heading towards 'Les Minimes'. Get off at the stop 'Vieux Port'.
