Walking
From La Rochelle's city center, walk towards Rue du Temple, continue to Place de Verdun, then proceed to Avenue de la République. Walk south until you reach Avenue du Général de Gaulle, turn left, and continue straight. After 15 minutes, you'll reach a roundabout; take the second exit onto Avenue de la Prte Royale. Continue for 10 minutes, and the Royal Gate will be on your right. Total walking time is approximately 25 minutes.
Public Transport
From La Rochelle train station (Gare de La Rochelle), walk to the nearby bus stop and take Line 3 towards 'Les Minimes'. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the 'Prte Royale' stop. From there, walk about 5 minutes straight along Avenue de la Prte Royale, and you will arrive at the Royal Gate. A single bus ticket costs around €1.50.
