From central Paris, head to the nearest RER station, such as Châtelet-Les Halles or Saint-Michel Notre-Dame. Purchase a ticket to Versailles Rive Gauche (RER C) which costs around €7.50. Board the RER C train and ensure you are heading towards Versailles. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Versailles Rive Gauche station, follow the signs to exit the station and head towards the Palace of Versailles. It's a 10-15 minute walk straight up Avenue de Paris. You will see the stunning gates of the palace ahead.

From Paris, you can take the bus from the Montparnasse bus station. Look for the Ligne 171 bus towards Versailles. The bus ride takes about 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the final stop at Place d'Armes, you will be right at the entrance of the Palace of Versailles.

Take the Metro Line 9 to Pont de Sèvres and transfer to bus Line 171 that will take you directly to the Palace of Versailles. Alternatively, you can take the Metro Line 1 to La Défense, then take the RER A to Versailles Rive Droite. From there, it's a 20-minute walk to the Palace. Ensure you check the RER A schedule as it operates less frequently than other lines.
