From central Paris, head to the nearest RER station, such as Châtelet-Les Halles or Gare Saint-Lazare. Purchase a ticket to Versailles Rive Gauche station (make sure to take the RER C line). The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Versailles Rive Gauche, exit the station and follow the signs towards the Palace of Versailles. It is approximately a 10-minute walk straight ahead. You will see the grand entrance gates leading to the palace.

You can take the bus from various locations in Paris. Look for the bus line 171, which departs from the Porte de Saint-Cloud metro station (Line 9). The bus will take you directly to the Palace of Versailles, with the journey lasting around 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Versailles stop, the Palace will be right in front of you.

For an adventurous option, consider renting a bike from one of the many bike rental stations in Paris, such as Vélib'. Cycle along the Seine River towards Versailles. The route is approximately 20 km (about 12 miles) and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the riverside paths and then navigate through the local streets of Versailles until you reach the Palace, which is well-signposted.
