Walking
The final approach to Chaukhi Pass involves a hike from Juta village. From the village center, follow the marked trail towards the Chaukhi massif. The hike is approximately 8 kilometers and can take 3-4 hours, depending on your pace. The trail gradually ascends through the Juta Valley, passing by the Fifth Season hut and Zeta camping. Continue towards the pass, following the well-trodden path. Be prepared for a steep ascent in the final section before reaching the pass. Hiking sticks are recommended for assistance. There are no entrance fees or tolls to access the pass.

Public Transport
To reach Juta, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Stepantsminda. Mountain Freaks agency offers daily minibus service from their office in Stepantsminda to Juta. The price for a return ticket is approximately 45 GEL. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. From Juta, follow the walking guidance to reach Chaukhi Pass.

Taxis are available in Stepantsminda to take you to Juta. A one-way trip costs around 50-60 GEL, and a round trip with a few hours of waiting time included costs about 100 GEL. From Juta, follow the walking guidance to reach Chaukhi Pass.
